Favorite day of the week by far. Three nights and two whole days all to ourselves. No work, or bosses or phones ringing off the hook.

The pure joy and anticipation of the weekend in front of us. Oh the possibilities…

The spider

A couple of people commented on my photo in my previous post. I was taking a picture of the image the shadow produced on the ground behind my vehicle. In the photo you can see the corner of my license plate with an image of a spider, yes, a spider on it. Why you may ask, because the mascot for the University of Richmond is a spider and I work for this university and decided to get their license plate on my vehicle. How cool is that.

I think it is amazing considering I also hate spiders like quite a few people I know. When I first started working at the university I thought it was extremely odd to have a spider as their mascot, but time passes and I see the spider everywhere, so it’s not so strange anymore.

I didn’t realize I had captured the spider image on my plate until I posted the photo on my blog. I think it adds a certain some-in some-in to the photo.

Mysterious image

This afternoon when returning to my car to head back to the office after lunch I encountered this image on the ground behind my vehicle. The sun was shining through some part of my vehicle, I think the spare tire attached to the back, to cause this image. It made me smile.

Oh and that Spider in the upper left hand corner is the University of Richmond’s mascot.

Don’t look at me like that… I didn’t choose it!

Same crap…different day

I’ve got nothing. How do people come up with shit to write about every day? And then how do they find the time or energy to write it? Really, really? Granted some of the stuff I read is crap, but still, some isn’t too bad.

I think I am a reasonably intelligent adult woman, but most days I can’t think of anything that is worth putting pen to paper or fingers to keyboard as it were. So I think I will just ramble today.

When email first came out, how excited were we? We were so excited to check our email every hour of every day. I maybe received 5-10 emails a day. Now, yikes I wish I received 5-10 emails per day. Email has become the bane of my existence. I don’t think a lick of work can get done without putting it in an email. People stop sending so many emails. It is mostly because everyone feels the need to cover their butts. I need to get it in writing, I need to get it in writing…sheesh.

Diets

It is only January 9 and I am already sick of the diet commercials. We all know the secret to losing weight. Cut off one of your limbs. Nuff said.

I have a question. Under what circumstances would you stay with your spouse if they were cheating on you?

Back from Indianapolis

I spent last week in Indianapolis at a parking conference. You heard me…a parking conference. It sounds boring doesn’t it, well you are right it was BORING. The only thing that got me through the boredom was knowing I was traveling up to Wisconsin on Friday to celebrate my mom’s 80th birthday with my family.

Everyone had a good time. Too much alcohol was had by many, not me, but many others. I did have my share, but I was pretty good at moderation. I did eat too much however, so I gained three pounds in a week. How does that happen? I hate middle age.

Thanksgiving is coming, do you see it right around the bend. I have yet to make any plans. Although it is Thanksgiving after all and what do you need to plan really? Turkey – check, green beans – check, pumpkin pie – check, sweet potatoes – check, stuffing – check and of course, mashed potatoes – check. I think it will just be Bogie and me this year. I will invite our host students, but they usually travel around the US during Thanksgiving week.

So, what is everyone else doing for Thanksgiving? The usual or something new and different? Gobble, Gobble.
