Why do women that do not work outside the home need a cleaning service?  Now some might say “well if they can afford it, why not?”  I guess I feel it is wasteful.  Is [...]]]> I am sure my post today will be unpopular with some, but it is something that I don’t understand…at all.

Why do women that do not work outside the home need a cleaning service?  Now some might say “well if they can afford it, why not?”  I guess I feel it is wasteful.  Is it a status symbol?

I have a neighbor with a four-year old daughter.  She does not work outside the home, her daughter goes to daycare several mornings a week, yet every Monday morning I see her cleaning lady drive up to her house and unload all her cleaning supplies.  Now some might say…are you jealous?…hell yes, I am jealous.  I work 40+ hours a week and have a very messy dog in the house.  I would love some help in the cleaning department.

I know many people have cleaning services.  So it is not an anomaly, but wow, is that really necessary when you are home all day every day?  What are you doing if you are not cleaning your house?

I don’t get it…I just don’t get it.

Do you clean your own home?…now you are afraid to tell me aren’t you.

I even hate looking at and uploading this photo of a [...]]]> About a month ago I started seeing daddy-long leg spiders in the family room, which is in the basement of our tri-level home.  Now, if you know anything about me, you know I. HATE. SPIDERS.

I even hate looking at and uploading this photo of a SPIDER.  Yuck, yuck, yuck.

So every day I would see at least 4-6 spiders in our family room.  I found a couple in our kitchen and our living room too.  Thankfully I have not found any in the upstairs rooms.  Now, most of the spiders were on their last legs , I couldn’t resist.  In other words almost dead.  If they weren’t almost dead or dead I would be a raving lunatic by now.

I kept saying to Bogey, I wonder why we are having such a spider problem this year, we have never had them in the house before? We have lived in our home for seven years.  Bogey just shook his shoulders.  He is such a talker that one.

Every spring I have an exterminator come to the house and spray outside, in the crawl space, and inside the house.  We have a fireplace in the family room and I did suggest to Bogey that maybe the flue was open and the spiders were coming down the chimney.  I asked him to check the flue.  Did he?…I don’t know…but I don’t think so.

I decided to take matters into my own hands and I called our pest control guy.  I called him on a Monday, all week I waited for his call…nothing.  I called him the next Monday…all week I waited for his call…nothing.  Then he finally called me this Monday.  I told him the problem and he said he would be able to stop by today to take a look and reapply some pesticide.  Don’t you just love that word…pesticide.  Anyway, since Bogey was working at home Monday I told Vince that he could come by anytime.  When I got home from work, Vince had just left.  I asked Bogey if he reapplied the pesticide, he said that he did…inside, outside, and in the crawl space.  Vince even mentioned that our crawl space looks good…very dry.  Hooray for our crawl space.

I asked Bogey if Vince knew why we had so many spiders this year.  Bogey looked me right in the eye and said I don’t want to tell you. Which scared the crap out of me.  I said why don’t you want to tell me? Bogey said, because Vince said he checked the fireplace and the flue was open.

When will husbands learn?…the wife is always right (99.9% of the time anyway).
