What do you do after work?

Seriously.  I want to know.  The 5 o’clock whistle blows.

So, what happens at the end of your day?  Now I realize each day may be a little different, but generally speaking…do you go home and veg out in front of the television.  Do you have to pick up your kids from soccer…ballet…choir…you name it?

Me, I used to come home from work most days and walk my puppies.  Charlotte and Bramwell.  They greet me at the door with exultation.  I can’t begin to tell you how that feels.  Well, if you have dogs, you know how that feels.

This is an aside…when I go into the bathroom each time, I go through a little inventory of my life…yes I do.  I ask myself…how am I feeling today?…fat, tired, energetic, young, old, excited.  I go through the gambit.  I do this every time I enter the bathroom stall…I know, crazy right?

I do a smaller version of this on my way home from work each night.  Is this what my life is…

  • Get up
  • Shower
  • Get dressed
  • Eat Breakfast
  • Watch a little morning news
  • Walk Bramwell
  • Give Bramwell a dog biscuit on our return
  • Dry and style my hair
  • Brush my teeth
  • Shut the pocket doors
  • Turn off the lights
  • Turn off the T.V.
  • Turn on the radio
  • Give Brammy a dog biscuit
  • Grab my purse and sometimes my workout clothes
  • Turn and say to Brammy…Guard the house!
  • Drive to work
  • Work
  • Lunch
  • Drive home from work…and here is where I divert…sometimes, I go to the grocery store, or workout, or stop after work for a glass of wine or two with a co-worker
  • Arrive home
  • Walk Bramwell
  • Eat dinner
  • Watch some T.V.
  • If I am ambitious, do some laundry
  • If I am ambitious, brush my teeth, and then…
  • Go to bed
  • Then I wake up…and start all over again

I do fit in some knitting and reading along the way.   I Skyped with my sister and her significant other tonight.  I love connecting with family.

So what does the end of your day look like?

After a long day of giving massages, I come home to my wonderful husband. Usually he has made dinner for me. Then I sit in my massage chair in front of the fireplace, eat my dinner and fall asleep. Sometimes if I didn’t do 5 massages that day I knit. Kinda boring I know, but one only has so much energy, and mind is gone at the end of the day. Luckily so is my husbands.

  • I am a stay at home wife. I get to do whatever I want on my own schedule. Yes I am spoiled.

  • Home. Say hi to and pet each nearby cat.
Stop in the bathroom and turn the water on for one cat.
    Change into yoga pants.
To the kitchen where I give out the meds to the old man cat, and feed him.
Check the water dishes. Check the dry food dish.
    Check my blood sugar.
Grab a bottle of water that already has crystal light in in from the fridge and a fiber bar from the cabinet.
Plop down behind my computer on the couch, turn the TV on, turn the computer on.
Later I will make my lunch for the next day.

Doesn’t vary a whole lot. Sometimes I eat more than a fiber bar. :)
