I have a dilemma…

Today I decided to put a photo of my sweet Charlotte as my wallpaper (desktop image) on my work computer.  So every time I look at my desktop I see her beautiful face.  The problem is…I am stilling feeling such a loss with her passing, that each time I look at her, I feel such sadness.

It is a Catch 22.  I love her so much, that I want to remember every little piece of her, but it also hurts so much to realize that I can no longer hug her, kiss her sweet face or stroke her soft, soft fur.

As you can see I am torn.  Here is the photo on my desktop.  Is she not the sweetest puppy you have ever seen?

  • She is a beautiful dog, and I can tell that you loved her very much. Just look at the way that she is looking up at you. Put this picture on your desktop and when you feel sad, remember all the good times that you had, and that you would not want her to suffer.
    Big hugs,

  • I think you need to do what feels right to you. If it’s too painful to see her picture every moment – wait to have it in easy sight. But… if you have a moment of strength when you see her smiling face (before the sadness) then keep it. I know in the months since my Dad passed away, I get bolstered with strength at times when I see photos of him. It’s fleeting – often followed by sadness… but it helps.

  • She really is sweet:-) I know it hurts right now. One day, you will see her and just smile with memories and the sadness will fade.

  • I appreciate all your kind words. She was indeed very loving.

I am thinking of having this photo framed (cropping out my ugly feet of course).

  • She is indeed, a beautiful dog, a very sweet face. You’re the only one who can know what’s the best way to grieve, the only thing I can say is you will probably always miss her and love her, but after a while you will see her picture and smile a bit more than feel down. Right now it reminds you that she is gone. One day it will remind you only of the sweetness of her when she was here.
