Well, I haven’t had much time to blog lately.  I have been trying to adjust to my new job.  Today the university president had a reception for the winter holiday.  That’s ‘Christmas holiday’ to 90% of the people in the United States.

It’s amazing how political correctness has watered down a wonderful holiday.  Many places are afraid to advertise with the word Christmas.  So now schools do not go on Christmas break it is winter break.  Some businesses are afraid to put up Christmas trees and decorations for fear political correctness will hurt their business.  Never mind that over 90% of Americans are Christians.

A former boss of mine stopped decorating the office with a Christmas tree and decorations thinking it might offend some of our Jewish clients.  Hogwash.  I have several Jewish friends who wish me a Merry Christmas and I wish them a Happy Hanukkah.  I even talked to a very influential donor of ours on the phone one Christmas season and at the end of the conversation she said to me “Merry Christmas” and I said thank you.

I feel we can celebrate all faiths holidays without diminishing any.  So don’t be afraid to say “Merry Christmas”, trust me, you will not offend anyone.
