Well, I am glad that is behind me. Four hours to inverview for a new job. I have been looking off and on for about a year now. l am just not very happy with my current position. The man who hired me left two years ago, and I haven’t really been happy since he left. He abandoned me. A lot of turnover here. I have worked with my current employer for 3 1/2 years.
We have a really nice university five minutes from my house. I have wanted to get a job there for a long time. I have applied several times before. This is my first interview. I was impressed with everyone that I met yesterday. Especially my potential new boss. The benefits are great and hopefully if they offer me the position they will be able to match my pay. The pay scale is less than I currently make, so…we shall see.
I actually like interviewing for jobs. It keeps me on my toes and I find it a challenge to sell myself ,so that they think I am the next best thing since sliced bread. I called my references to give them a head’s up. Both of them said they would give me a rave review. One of the references is the lady who started the agency at my previous employer and the other reference is the man who hired me at my current employer and then abandoned me. I give him sh*t about it all the time.
So today I sent out eight thank you notes to all the people that I met with yesterday. The head of the department said they will be making a decision by the end of the week.
So that’s what I did yesterday.

Good luck! I hope you get the job:-)
You sent out thank you notes? Wow….I’m impressed. That DOES make you the next best thing since sliced bread!
Good luck, my friend. I’ll be praying!
I hope there’s good news soon! I’ll have my fingers crossed for ya!
I agree with Dory. Not only does it show you are polite but it will keep you at the top of their list because they’ll remember YOU.
Good luck!!
I read on-line today that only 4% of job applicants send thank you notes. I have always sent them. I guess I am in the 4%.
Good luck to you and I am pulling for you. Sending the thank you knows is a really nice gesture! Please keep us posted!
Good luck. Just remember as long as it gets you closer to me. Before you get too old to be fun to be around.
Oh, I will NEVER get too old to be fun to be around. You can take that to the bank!
Who are you kidding, you were too old the day you were born…..I’m way more fun than you….hahahahahhahahaha
Some would disagree…and by some, I mean everybody.
My fingers are crossed for you.
