Diet…Day 5

Well this is the fifth day of my NutriSystem diet.  I have decided to chronicle my weight loss (see how hopeful I am here), on a separate page (see Diet tab above), instead of in my regular postings.  I will still write about the diet from time to time here, but I will update the diet regularly on the diet page

This whole diet has made me stop and think about body image, mine and body image in general.  I have always felt that I am on the positive side of average when it comes to looks.  I am happy with my looks.  But like every other woman I know, I always want to be thinner.  I feel fat some days and fine other days.  I have never felt thin.  As I stated in an earlier post I never had trouble maintaining my ideal weight until I was in my early 20′s.  From that point on I have always had to watch what I eat.  That doesn’t mean I don’t over-eat, it just means I have to be careful not to over-eat a lot.

I won’t tell you how much I weigh, but I will tell you that I am 5’10″ tall and at this height I have been a size 10, 12, 14 and 16.  I am happiest at a size 14.  I was in the smaller sizes up until my early 20′s.  I like a size 14 because I still look good (to me) and I can eat normally (whatever that is), and still shop in normal stores (again, whatever that means).  Would I like to be a size 10 again, you bet, but I would also like to be 16 again, and that isn’t happening any time soon.  I am shooting for a size 12 or 14.  Right now I am between size 14 and 16.  So, what does that equate to in pounds…I would have to say 20-30 pounds.  We’ll see how tired I get of this diet.

Well, that’s about it.  I have exhausted my thoughts on dieting for today.  So if you are even remotely interested in my diet journey head on over to my Diet page.

I also am trying a new advertiser…Kontera.  They are resonsible for pop-up’s when you hover over certain words in my posts.  It may drive me crazy…or maybe drive my readers crazy (all three of you).  Kidding there are more, but some have told me they don’t comment.  Comment already!

Have a great weekend everyone!  Weekends are the toughest when I am dieting.  Have I written the word diet enough in this post?

  • Ok… I see you figured out how and where to put the favicon stuff. Now, dagnabbit…. how come I can’t figure that little sucker out????? I did it before, prior to my blog meltdown a while back and now… it’s just eluding me. :(

Good luck on the diet, by the way.

If you need any help on the favicon…just give me a hollar. It took me forever, but I finally figured it out. I put my employer’s logo as a favicon on their website too. They really spruce up the sites.

  • Thotlady, best of luck! I lost 20 pounds last year, and it was kind of arduous, especially at the beginning but it CAN BE DONE, even at our “advanced age” (I’m 42).

For me, the key was keeping my metabolism up. Doing a little bit of intense cardio every day, along with some weight training, worked really well for me, but do whatever you enjoy. I also tried some metabolic boosters that included yerba mate – safe, natural stuff of course.

Most importantly, DON’T LOSE HEART. You can always start again, even if you fall off your diet from time to time.

    GO GO GO!!!!!

  • Yeah, I used “LeanSystem 7″ and it really worked out well for me. It tends to control your appetite, though it’s not a speedy diet pill. I did find that it helped boost my metabolism after a few weeks of taking it and working out regularly.

I am REALLY anti taking pills, so I’m reluctant to recommend it to anyone, but it did work OK for me. I would suggest you read up on it and see how you feel about it. Main thing is stay active and get enough nutrition so your body can do its thing…
