I will probably piss off some people with this post but… I.HATE.GUEST.BLOGGERS. There I have said it.
When I travel to bloggers websites, I do not come to see your guests, I come to see YOU. I can’t tell you how much this annoys me. All I can think about is…lazy, lazy, lazy. I get it. I know that you are trying to spice up your blog and also give a fellow blogger a new audience. DON’T.DO.IT. I am begging you. I would rather see a big billboard saying….
ON VACATION
than to see a sign taped on your front door
So sorry, I am on vacation,
but please come on in, take your shoes off
and visit with my house guest here.
I know you don’t know her,
but she is great, just sit a spell
and listen to her talk.
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!
As soon as I see ‘guest blogger’ I turn around and continue on my journey. Maybe I am in the minority, but I really hate this practice.

First, let me caveat by saying I know very little about blogs. And so…in some ways I totally agree. If you are on vacation and don’t plan on blogging…don’t blog. no need to bring someone in just to fill “the air space”. Go on vacation.
But I don’t mind it at all if you blog about a particular subject or theme and you know someone else who is a “sub-subject matter expert”. For example, say you write a cooking blog and you do a session on pastries and your friend is a pastry chef. I think it would be great to have your friend write a post about pastries. Just my two cents.
Sounds like how I feel when I click on a website, especially a blog, and music starts playing. Gah!! I’m not looking for music – not expecting music – don’t want someone else picking music for me to listen to …
I don’t care for them either, although I am guilty of being a guest blogger at someone else’s house. But that was because I wrote about something really embarrassing and I didn’t want my parents reading about it on my own blog. So I gave it to someone else to post.
